About

The Full Story

Hello and welcome to Rose Light Sanctuary, we are the owners, co-creators and stewards of this land, Trevor and Rachael batchelder. You being here is a direct result of our dreams and prayers so we are very honored to welcome you to our version of heaven on earth.

we met in 2013 in california and had our first date at a bath house much like the one we are creating here at RLS. WE have both always shared a passion for sacred waters, holistic health, wellness and spiritual transformation. We got married in 2020 and have been seeding the manifestation of this dream since then.

through some sacrifices and challenges, we were blessed beyond measure to be able to purchase this land in the spring of 2022 which was used as a kids camp for some time. We knew instantly upon setting foot here that this was the place in which we could devote our lives in service to humanity through our love.

we began working to create our vision the day we closed on this property around Beltane 2022 and have not stopped pouring our hearts and focus into making this place beautiful. WE want to share with you some before and after photos to help you understand what has gone into making this place what it is now so you can appreciate all of our work and be a part of our story.

The first step was clearing out the trash and resetting the grid as the kids camp had been abandoned for some years but it looked as if it just had stopped one day so lots of the relics were still here to be sorted through. That included several days of yard sale and free stuff pick through and lots of folks coming by to rummage through the debris. IT also took a very large and expensive dumpster and throwing out a decade of accumulated collective STUFF.

Then we began to beautify our new home, repaint walls, develop the garden and build a fence as well as start work on renovating all the beautiful but unfinished little cabins sprinkled around the property. our first cabin to get working on was the wood rose cabin and the transformation was so gratifying.

here is the Moss Grove Cabin once the window had been installed in the back wall and the walls had been sheet rocked in the before picture and then the finished cabin. This cabin took more time as there were more challenges along the way as well as more weird angles and carpentry puzzles to solve but we are happy with how it came out in the end. a deck was also added out front as well as some adjustments to the stairway up to the loft which was originally very steep and narrow.

In between finishing the first 2 cabins, trevor built out first outdoor shower while maintaining the grounds and gardens which took a lot of time and energy as we also ran our summer cleaning business which had us out of the house working to sustain the dream we were building at home.

As fall came to a close and rentals ended, we shifted our focus to a period of downtime as we planned and prepared for the winter push to come where many spaces would receive our full attention and come into fruition.

here is a before and after of our first winter project which commenced on the winter solstice when this flooring was purchased. This is the beautiful Forest Temple Gathering Space. it had originally been built as a mess hall for the camp but never finished and was full of quilting supplies and junk when we moved in. WE are so excited about the potentiality of what magick will unfold in this space as a ceremony, workshop, and gathering space with a pretty amazing dance floor to mention!

We are currently working on naming and decorating cabin 3 and our communal kitchen in preparation for the upcoming season, stay tuned on our social media to stay up to date on improvements and current projects!
